    How we work

Our Social Charter

If you’ve spent any time on our site, you will already know something about our origins.  So of course, it shouldn’t come as any great surprise to say that we believe firmly in the idea that digital technologies have an important role to play in addressing social challenges. For us, that manifests itself in our mission statement – ‘to improve the quality of life and outcomes for every person with Cystic Fibrosis.’

Equally, we believe it’s important to be upfront about how we intend to deliver on that vision. In part, that’s about the application of technology, but it’s also about how we should behave as a social enterprise. We refer to this as our social charter.

A fundamental guiding principle is the idea that people living with Cystic Fibrosis are at the centre of everything we do. Our applications and services are (and will continue to be) designed around the needs of people living with CF. In designing and supplying these solutions, we believe safety is paramount. We will look to operationalise our technology only when their safety and efficacy is proven.

We believe too that individuals own their own data. If a person consents to our use of their data, it will only be used to support work guided by this charter. We aim to collect only as much data as is needed to provide our services and are actively engaged in researching new ways which involve us collecting less.

Finally, since our vision is all about creating impact, our commercial model is primarily concerned with supporting re-investment and global adoption, rather than maximising profit.
