• Getting timely reminders in Project Breathe (Android)

Version 2.0 of Project Breathe introduces a new daily reminder feature. On some Android devices, you might see delays in receiving a reminder notification. If you find that this is the case, try turning off battery optimisations for the Project Breathe app.

The instructions for turning off battery optimisations can vary depending on the exact type of phone you own,  and/or version of Android you are using. The instructions below feature screenshots from a Google Pixel 2 smartphone, but your phone’s menus might appear a little differently. Consult your phone’s documentation if you need extra help, or get in touch.

Note: In addition to these instructions, if you have a Huawei device, you might need to take a few extra steps too. See our guide here for more information.

1. Open your phone’s settings page and use the search bar at the top to find the ‘Battery Optimisation’ settings.

2. In the Battery Optimisation page, select the dropdown menu at the top of the screen and change it from ‘Not optimised’ to ‘All apps’

3. In the list of apps, find Project Breathe.

4. Tap on the ‘Project Breathe’ entry to open its settings, and turn off Battery Optimisations by selecting ‘Don’t Optimize’. The tap ‘Done’. Note that you may need to restart your phone for the settings to take effect.

5. Check that the Project Breathe entry in the list now shows that it is ‘Not optimised’. Important note: You may need to restart your device for this settings changed to take effect.
